In early april 2026 I organised a workshop for members of the cooperative PhotoLim87 on the subject of long exposures lit by a mixture of continuous lighting and flash.
Seven photographers and two dancers worked the whole day to explore the effects of long exposures lit with continuous lighting mixed with flash to capture dance movements on the stage.
In this type of photography, the flash is traditionally triggered automatically by the second curtain of the shutter. We also tested an alternative technique for triggering the flash manually (an idea proposed by Jean Pierre Neymond) which yielded excellent results with both one flash and multiple flashes.
